Winter almost finished...

Here in Vancouver, BC we believe the worst of the weather is now behind us and we can look forward to preparing our gardens for more colour! This comes with a bit of a to-do list, so here goes:

  • Leaf cleanup, perennial deadheading, spring pruning and shaping.

  • Apply rhododendron and shrub fertilizer. Prep lawns with lime and moss control. Of course, don’t forget the slug control.

  • Aerating, and as the dry weather occurs, power raking to follow.

  • Prevention of weeds and unwanted grass in the patios, walks and lawns.

  • Re-edging the beds and lawns are also on the to-do list.

As you can see, there is lots to do before the spring planting can begin but it is exciting to know it is just around the corner!

Enjoy those bulbs you planted in the fall – they should be popping up their heads soon!
